Micro-shame moments
This has been something that has really been weighing on me. I feel like I’m surrounded by the and it’s overwhelming. I’ve started brain dumping them on my list each time I come across one so I know I’ve made one step to getting it worked on. Then when I feel like there’s something I need to do but I don’t remember what I can refer to the list. What do you guys do to help with this feeling?

This is where a lot of my overwhelm comes from. I find myself randomly stressed at work (I’m really good at my job and it’s not really that stressful 80% of the time). Then, I’ll realize it’s what happens before/after work. Like “whoops, I left my lunch on the counter for the third time.” Or “oh, I forgot to cancel that subscription for the third month.” The to-do list on here helps me. But I started asking myself, what’s preventing me from getting it done, really? A lot of it is the overwhelm itself! When I was working with an adhd coach, she taught me to think of the first thing to do, and only pick one small task for the day, and then divide over the week. Then, you have “permission” to overlook the messes, while ensuring they’ll still get addressed.
